Chicken processing

Cutting chiken into pieces

Cutting of meat is used post slaughtering to dress and split carcases, to remove offal and to remove appendages and, where required, excess fat and bones.

Proper Feeding of chicken

Select fruits, vegetables and grains will keep chickens happy and ensure they are receiving a nutritionally balanced diet.

After slaugheter practice

Once each bird is finish, place it in a cooler filled with ice.

Packaging of Chicken

Ideally wrap first in a layer of plastic wrap or freezer paper, then a layer of foil, then store in a freezer bag or plastic container.

Chicken slicing

Hold the chicken breast with your non-knife hand, curling your fingertips under your knuckles.

Hanging Chicken after slaughter

After you've skinned or plucked the chicken, you'll need to hang the chicken up by its feet (if it isn't already) and cut the chickens head off if it wasn't done so in the culling process.
