Chickens need to be fed and water changed daily. They need to be let out of the coop each morning and put into the coop at dusk each night to protect them from predators.
The free-range system is best suited for small-scale farmers who raise chickens for domestic and commercial use.
You should collect eggs from your chicken coop a minimum of once a day. During periods of extreme heat or cold, chicken three or even four times a day is a good idea.
Poultry can be fed a wide variety of grains and will perform well when the grains are included in a balanced ration.
